LKH Lamps Sdn Bhd (“LKH Lamps”), formerly known
as Eastern Lamps
Sdn Bhd, was incorporated in Malaysia on 3 July 1982. LKH
Lamps’
principal activity is the manufacture and sale of fluorescent
and
incandescent lamps. It began its production in 1985 in its
Kota Bharu
factory under the brand names of EYE, LUMELUX and CROMPTON.
In April 2001, LKH Lamps was acquired by Equalight Resources
Sdn Bhd,
an 85% owned subsidiary of Tai
Sin Electric Cables Manufacturer Limited,
a company listed on the Singapore Exchange SESDAQ. The LKH
Lamps
factory in Kota Bharu was relocated in September 2001 to Kuantan
as part
of the group’s consolidation and rationalisation exercise
to streamline and
reduce production costs.
LKH Lamps is currently producing fluorescent and incandescent
lamps
under its own brand name such as LKH, Lumelux and Britmex.
It is also
manufacturing under licence for brands such as Crompton, Clipsal,
Davis, EYE and DANA which are distributed directly by the
distributors.
The fluorescent and incandescent lamps are also sold directly
to dealers
around Malaysia through its wholly-owned subsidiary LKH Lightings
Sdn Bhd
and exported to countries in the Middle East such as U.A.E.,
Qatar, Oman,
Yemen and Kuwait; Australia, New Zealand, Cyprus, Singapore,
Fiji Island,
Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
